It was a tough drive today but Ron got through it. The 11.5 miles from Whispering Palms to Long Point Park was a killer. Lol We had to vacate our spot at Whispering Pines by 11 am. By the time we hooked up and stopped to talk to several people we were on the road at 11:15 am.
We arrived at Long Point at 11:45 am and were immediately told we were too early for check in. Check in is not until 2 pm. I told him we knew that but had to vacate our other campground. He backed off and told us where to park but we may have to wait a hour until our site is available. Ron drove to the site and the people had already left so we pulled in and set up. Ron went back to get the final paper work and we are here for four nights.
It is blistering hot and the humidity is a killer. Ron and I are both sweating like crazy. We put on our back AC and set up fans. Cannot wait until we get the front AC fixed.
It had really cooled down so we had a great night's sleep. The wind has been howling all day and there are riptide warnings. Not a good day for the beach.
We hung around most of the day and took four walks around the park with Jewel.
